Unread Mail

I have 4 maillists whose messages always appear in the "Unread Mail" folder
but do not appear in the "Inbox". All other E-mails appear in both folders
when bold and only in the inbox when read. Once the messages that only
appear in the Unread folder are opened, they go to normal type and then
disapper when I switch to another folder. Once they have disappeared, they
do not appear in the deleted items folder or anywhere else, at least not
anywhere that I know about.

This did not happen with Outlook 2003.

Any ideas why this is happening?

Unread mail is not a real folder. It is a search folder that lists mail in
other folders. If you show the Unread mail folder in the Folder List view, it
will tell you where it is located--Junk Mail perhaps--or Deleted Items? Look
for the header "In Folder." Check your Junk Mail Rules and Rules and Alerts.
Question--what do you mean by maillist? Newsletter?

Thanks for the response Mary. I do not know what the Folder List view is. I
don't find it referenced in the View menu.

I guess the mail list is the same as a newletter. These are emails that I
get automatically from a discussion group where our e-mails are forwarded to
all subscribers of the list.

I read a little bit about search folders but cannot understand how any
e-mail addresed to me can be routed around my inbox.
