unread mail count shown in folder and subfolder

If I set a rule to send all email from (e-mail address removed) to my john
doe subfolder, and I recive a new email from him, how do I get both the sub
folder and in the default inbox folder to register one unread email, instead
of just the subfolder?

so, [Inbox (1) --> John Doe (1)], not [Inbox --> John Doe (1)]

You can't. With Outlook 2003 you can create a Search Folder that only shows
unread messages accross specific folders.

Since it is not the Inbox folder that contains the message, why would you
want Outlook to show a message there? Just because the John Doe folder ins
a subfolder of Inbox doesn't mean that its contents are PART of the Inbox
contents. They're completely distinct.
