Unknown Internet Explorer???

I think this is going to be a great program once
Microsoft is done working the bugs out of it.

Right now I have one problem I can not figure out. I get
this popup below everytime I startup MS Antispyware. It
does not matter if I allow or block or send to spynet.
It keeps popping up and I have to tell it what I want to
get rid of the popup again. Can someone please help me
work this problem out,,,,Thank you?

Do you have some kind of add-on toolbar like Yahoo or Google? THis is one
of those added in toolbar or button items that antiviruses, Acrobat, and
toolbars install. Go to Tools | Internet Options | Programs | and click the
Manage Add-ons button to see the list.

I also get this, do you have Mozilla Firefox installed ?
I get this message after every reboot and MSAS
dont remember that I click on "allow".

Is Mozilla Firefox "An Unknown Internet Explorer Web
Browser" .......?

I did have Firefox installed but removed it recently.
I'm sure their might be some components or register
entries that did not uninstall.

I doubt it. I really doubt that Firefox connects in any way to pieces of
IE. I could be wrong--since IE's rendering parts are part of the OS, it is
possible that Firefox uses some piece, but I doubt that would give rise to
this message. I've got firefox users on machines with Microsoft Antispyware
installed, and haven't heard about this message from them..

I noticed in the explaination in the logging area that it
gave a long number associated with the browser add-on. I
located that number in register edit and removed it
thinking it was an add-on not required. Well it was my
history bar in IE> This is not good when this program
can not identify it's very own!! Now how do I relace the
history bar in IE sp2? By the way I'm not getting the
popup anymore but I don't have the history function in IE.

Sounds like something compromised your history bar and was monitoring your
history. A reinstall of SP2 should fix the sp2 IE installation.

Thank you so much for your input,,,I am going to remove
and reinstall sp2,,,I will followup and let you know how
it turns out.

Well I removed SP2,,,removed MS Antispy,,,,reinstalled IE
Sp1 per theeldergeek site,,,reinstalled SP2,,,reinstalled
MS Antispy. As long as I don't go to another account on
my computer I'm alright. If to go to my other user
account which is also an administrator account, I get the
same popups.

I checked my other computer, a laptop, and it does the
same thing.

Their is no doubt now,,,,This is a MS Anti-Spyware bug!!

The only thing I could do is reformat and reinstall,,,I'm
not about to do that for a beta program. Especially when
my desktop and laptop both are running the best they ever
have. I think Microsoft can take it from here if they
are listening,,,and they claim they are.

Besides,,,there are other spyware programs available
that do a decent job. The only thing that's weird MS
AntiSpyware never found anything on both my computers.

They are listening.

I know there are bugs relating to multiple users. However, I have multiple
users and fast user switching on this machine, and haven't seen an alert
from Microsoft Antispyware that I didn't intentionally solicit for a good
long time. So I'm not sure what the variables are-- I'll leave that to the
folks replicating reports.
