Uninstalling XP2 when you can't log on

I installed XP2 onto my PC but now I can't use it at all. On start-up I just
end up with the desktop with no icons and no taskbar plus a windows explorer
error "windows explorer encountered a problem and needs to close" (detail of
error lists explorer.exe.mdmp). I have tried to look up how I can uinstall
SP2 and get my PC back, but can't seem to find anything that will work. I
think I may need to get hold of a start-up disk. Any ideas? Many Thanks.

Hi

After the next reboot, keep tapping F8 to see if you can access a screen
that has 'LAst Known Good Configuration' as an option. Try that to see if
you can boot into Windows. If that doesn't help, try to access the same
screen again for a System Restore in Safe Mode.
