Uninstalling SP2

I installed SP2 several weeks ago which automatically
updated Media Player from version 9 to 10. This took
place in the middle of an online course I was taking that
utilized the automatic video download, save, and replay
features of 9 - WHICH WERE REMOVED IN VERSION 10 !!!!! I
tried using System Restore by selecting a restore point
prior to SP2. Upon reboot, XP said it couldn't do the
restore. WMP 9 will NOT install over 10 and there appears
NO other way to revert back to 9 so I can complete the
course. Any help would be appreciated. Not sure what to
try next. I hope MS is listening. WHY DID YOU REMOVE
THOSE FEATURES FROM 9? PUT THEM BACK. PLEASE !!!!!

WMP 10 does not come in SP2; it is a separate download that came out
around the same time. So when you installed it there should have been a
restore point of its own made; going back to that is the only way to
uninstall it
