Uninstalling OEM Programs

D

Don Bouchard

After opening and setting up Windows Vista on my new notebook there are
several icons on the desktop for programs I wish to uninstall. Many of
these programs do not appear in the Control Panel's Add or Remove Program
list. Should I simply delete the desktop icons? How can I be sure there is
no underlying install program?

Deleting the icon only deletes the shorcut to the program. If it is a windows
component, you can't remove the program; you can only hide it.
