Installing New Programs on Vista Laptop

Anyone else having issues installing new programs on Vista based machines?
I've installed the Blackberry desktop manager software on a Vista laptop
seeral times, but can't find program folders on the machine anywhere. If I
look at Programs and features, it lists the program, but I have no access to
the software. No desktop icon is created, nada. I've tried uninstalling and
reinstalling to no avail. Permissions are set correctly, but can't see any
indication program is installed on the machine except in the control panel.
FYI - The laptop had previous working installation that was uninstalled by
remote tech support due to issue with MS exchange. Tech reinstalled software,
but did not verify operational after resolution of exchange issue. Any ideas?

I would use regedit's edit/find menu item to search for the word
'blackberry' to see if you can find the path to the executable file for the
app.
