Uninstall a duplicate version of XP

I recently had some computer problems and in an attempt to do a repair of XP
using the disks it looks like I have unintentionaly installed a duplicate
install of XP...so two versions of XP on the one PC...I know this because
when it boots up I can enter to either one and it will boot up to windows. I
would like to remove that second instance of XP and return my PC to how it
was...any help would be appreciated.

drive to remove the second instance and

Whether you can remove the second instance of XP is dependent on where
on your HD the second instance is residing. It sounds like you did not
do a repair install. It sounds like you just installed a second
instance, either in its own folder, or in its own partition.

If it is in its own folder or partition, you have a better chance of
recovering.

Look on your HD, and see where the second instance is residing. If it
is in a second partition(it will appear as second HD), you should be
able to just delete the partition it is residing on, then adjust your
boot.ini file to reflect the change.

If it's in a second folder, you will have a harder time removing it, but
it will still be possible.

Personally, since you were unable to correctly perform a repair install,
I advise you to take your machine to a local shop and have them fix it.
