I swapped my CPU, how do I carry over all my programs and settings?

I swapped out my AMD Ryzen 5 2600 with an AMD Ryzen 5 3500x. I assumed that my PC would look exactly as it used to when I booted it up but it seems that none of my programs or settings carried over. I reinstalled the Ryzen 5 2600, booted it up, and my PC was back to normal.

I want my PC to look exactly like it did with my old CPU, how do I accomplish this?
 
I wouldn’t have thought changing your processor would impact your windows installation. I could be wrong though.

If you store most stuff in the cloud now anyway then it might be worth doing a fresh install of windows anyway.
