Unable to use remote assistance/desktop

Hi guys,

Have setup a number of pc's with connections to a domain network from
outside locations using a router with each pc at each location. Am
able to ping both ways fine. Remotely i have to use the full unc path
i.e. pcname.domainname.country but it does work. Am also able to use
programs that connect to company's servers which, although slower, work
just as well as ones based in an office right beside server room.

Trouble is i'm unable to use remote assistance to connect to the pc's.
They were all setup as part of the domain before being shipped out,
used group policy to allow unsoliciated connection but each time i try
to connect i can't get through. Have tried connecting using both name
and ip address. Have gotten message saying "Remote machine unavailable
or does not exist" so tried connecting to have a look at it 's group
policy using MMC but can't connect via that either.

Any idea's what could be wrong? Have to admit i'm not the best with
back end network, only with front end desktop stuff.

ta.

Hi,

any firewall that might be blocking traffic?

Can you try and telnet remote client on port 3389 to check if it will
connect to remote computer?

Best regards...
