unable to update

I have installed the beta2 and when I try to update the definitions, I
receive the following message: "Windows Defender was unable to complete the
update 0x80248013. I have this message on several different machines. Anybody
has a solution?
Thanks

I am getting that same error on several computers here. At first I thought
it was a fluke after I installed Beta 2 version, but another computer that
has had it running for several months gets the same error when attempting to
update, as well.

After doing a crictial Update from Microsoft, it downloaded the latest
definition file and I am up to date again.

Thanks for posting back with your success. I don't think we've seen this
particular error before this thread.

I had received notification that I needed to update my "Windows Defender".
After downloading the update I kept receiving the following error:

"Windows Defender was unable to complete the update: 0x800706c. The
installation source for the product is not available. Verify that the source
exits and that you can access it."

I tried uninstalling and reinstalling Windows Defender but continued to
receive the same error. After reading Tahoe_Scott's response, I went into
Microsoft and checked for updates. It found the definitions update and
downloaded it. Now it works great. Thanks Tahoe_Scott.
