Defenders Update failure

I just install the defender and want to update the definition file. But
error found as follows:
Windows Defender was unable to complete the update 0x8024002b

Whatever you do, (installing and updateting or unistalling) always as a
adinistrator.

Can you gº to Windows Update, select Express (Get high-priority updates),
and apply all offered updªtes
http://update.microsoft.com

Once that is finished, can you verify the update installs? There are many
pre-requisite files which are needed from windows update and signature update
with windows defender will fail until you hªve these files.

Thank for your prompt reply.

First of all, I am already the administrator. Secondly, when I apply window
update, all patches can be successfully installed. It can be verified in the
history of update. One of the update patches is the Defender definition file
version: 1.14.1436.4.

However, when I choose update the definition file in the Defender, same
error found. Windows Defender was unable to complete the update 0x8024002b.

Do you have automatic updates turned on--for Windows?

Do you have this numbers:
WD v. 1.1.1347.0
Engine v. 1.1.1372.0
Signature v. 1.14.1436.4 (this numbers will be change in a few hours or today)

If yes, let the autoupdater do the job for you. The updates come once or
twice a week.

Hello,

We have Defender installed in the IT department of our hospital on
about 30 workstations. Nearly all of them fail to install the defintion
update. Automatic updates are turned on. We are local admins of our machines.
We choose YES to let let the update install. The install says it was
completed. When you check for updates again it still says that it needs the
same update. Rebooting makes no difference. We have not looked real hard to
fix it but we are all experienceing the same thing you are.

Dear Engel,

The auto update for windows and defenders are both turned on. The version
number, engine version and signature are also same as what you wrote. Maybe
I need to wait for whether the defender can update the signature by end of
next week. However, what Dean wrote was worth to note.

But I still doubt your suggestion. As if manual update cannot be performed,
how come auto update can be successful?

say can not be updated:error 0x8024002b
