When I click "Check Now" I am getting the error "Windows Defender unable to
complete the update: 0x8024002b"

Any ideas?

Your IT dept/Admin must permit and publish WDs definitions from the internal
corporate WSUS server.
So talk/mail him/them and ask for permission.

AutoUpdate--the native automatic update mode of Windows Defender uses the
BITS service. This service is specifically designed, as I understand it to
minimize bandwidth impact.

If your windows update is pointing to your local WSUS, then you must include
the Windows Defender in synchronization setting.
In Products selection, please include Windows Defender
In Update classifications, please include Definition Updates

You must synchronize the server and approve the definition for clients to
get the latest definition.

is the troubleshooting doc.

Have you been to Windows Update?

Are you on a managed corporate network where AutoUpdate connects to a
corporate server?

Consider doing a check for updates (help, about, check for updates)

and then:

notepad %windir%\windowsupdate.log

Scroll to the end, and cut and paste just that last check for updates back
to this thread. Pay attention to lines indicating what server is being
connected to, and what type of server it is.
