Unable to update: 0x80248008

Hola Guys!
Please help me! I've just installed the MS Defender, after installation
successfully completed a balloon show up & says the Definition is 26days old
& needs to be updated or something smellier, when I check for updates another
balloon says that “MS Defender was unable to complete the update: 0x80248008.â€
Wondering why not?!? Please help!
I’ll appreciate your instant help.

That happens. Try going to Window Updates and see if the update is
available, and download it there. It that still does not work, or if you
previously installed but then uninstalled Defender and reinstalled it, try
the steps in this article:

Tried this several times - no luck with updates (WinXP Pro2002)
Deinstalled, ran cmd, reinstalled, ran cmd - still no updates!
Error 0x8024402

My Windows update also failed but it gave a more helpful error message:
'Network policy settings prevent you from using this website to get
updates...'
As I am on a corporate intranet I can believe this. I think my company is
somehow preventing Defender's update from happening. As I've just downloaded
Beta2 I'm happy to give up for a bit. Bye.
