Windows defender unable to updat: 0x80080005.Server execution fail

Windows defender says definitions havnt been updated in 128 days, but when I
try to update windows defender it says: (in pop up balloon from taksbar)

"Windows defender was unable to complete the update: 0x80080005. Server
execution failed."

I have searched microsoft and everywhere and there is no record of this
problem anywhere. I have tried re-installing the program, nothing helps.
