Problem Updating Windows Defender

I cannot install definition update 1.14.1396.12 from both
update.microsoft.com and Windows Defender 'Check for Updates'.
1) Update.microsoft.com prompts "Updates were unable to be successfully
installed"
2) Windows Defender prompts "Windows Defender was unable to complete the
updates: 0x80070005. Access is denied."
I have already login as a member of Administrator and tried KB915105.

Hello phm2110,

Go to the System Event log:

Start, Run, eventvwr.msc <enter>

Click on the System event log

Go to View, choose Filter, and choose "windefend" in the source control.

Look for yellow triangle entries that give the precise path and location of
what was detected, and use the button provided to paste the content of the
detection back to a message here.

Hello SBTRS,

Can you go to Windows Update, do an Express scan, and apply all offered
updªtes
http://update.microsoft.com
Once that is finished, can you verify the update installs? There are many
pre-requisite files which are needed from windows update and signature
update with windows defender will fail until you hªve these files.

You can run in safe mode with networking.

There are no pending windows updates available except the new 1.14.1396.12
signature update, It installs ,says successful then when run Windows update
again shows up again. Is there a way to force a windows update of what ever
components you are referring to?
