Unable to retrieve messages

When I try to retrieve my messages from outlook I keep
getting the response
awaiting responce from sending server
0x8004210B
I have already tried installing
Outlook Post service pack 3
but the problem still remains.

I have also cheked with my internet service provider and
the problem is not at their end. Its at mine.
 
hi,

this is a common problem. Applying sp3 will not help as it is a
configuration problem. I have a knowledge base article which may help you
resolve your issue.
