Unable to make changes to S

I tried to make some changes to Startup in System Configuration Utility.
But when I reboot, I get this message:

You have used the System Configuration Utility to make changes to the way
Windows starts.
The System Configuration Utility is currently in Diagnostic or Selective
Startup mode, causing this message to be displayed and the utility to run
every time Window starts.
Choose the Normal Startup mode on the General tab to start Windows normally
and undo the changes you made using the System Configuration Utility.

And I am forced to click OK and undo what I have done.

How can I get around this?

When that box comes up in the lower left hand corner you'll see a check box
to not show this message again. Check it and it goes away, and keeps all
your changes.

Did that message also display a box to "not show this message again"?
Check it.

Just clicking OK and exit *leaves* the changes you had made in use - it
just turns off this warning
