XP startup

I tried to stop AdpBrowser (Adobe Photo Downloader??) from startup and
received the following message:

"You have used the System Configuration Utility to make changes to the way
Windows starts. The System Configuration Utility is currently in diagnostic
or selective startup mode causing this message to be displayed and the
utility to run every time windows starts.
"[ ] Don't show this message or launch the System Configuration Utilily when
Windows starts.
"Choose the normal startup mode on the General tab to start Windows normally
and undo the changes you made using the System Configuration Utility."

Why would this happen?
Thanks
Doug

It happened because you used MSconfig to adjust the applications start
up instead of the applications configuration method.

This message always appears on reboot after using msconfig to edit
startup items. Simply check the box and move on.

This is normal behavior and you shouldn't worry about. Just tick the box
that says "don't show this message...".

Ticking that box will do sweet all. Every time you remove items from the
msconfig\startup tab you will get this box. Once you have determined that you
no longer want that entry in the list and want to once again return to normal
startup instead of the selective startup then simply go>start>run and type in
regedt32 and click ok. Now navigate the following route by clicking the +
beside each entry in the following order
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Shared Tools\Msconfig\startupfolder or
startupreg Now once you click the + that is beside either of the last two
entries you will see the program you unchecked listed. Right click on it and
click delete. Now the program will not have been deleted from your system but
just from the msconfig\startup list. The program will appear in either the
startupfolder or startupreg depending on how it installs and integrates into
your XP. Post back if you need more. TTFN.

So what? Ticking the box will stop the message appearing. There is no
reason for the OP to go into his registry and mess about. Also, I see
that you still haven't learned how to post properly on Usenet.
