Unable to contact server

Hello

I have a user who is unable to contact a certain server. From my PC, I am
able to ping this server via IP address, as well as by name. My user is
unable to ping it via either method. The user has no firewall, and is usin
valid DNS servers. She is in a remote office, her co-workers using the same
DNS are able to ping. DNS doesn't explain the fact I can't ping via IP,
though. I did try using the same DNS server which MY PC uses, to no effect.

I have ran ipconfig/flushdns on her system, even tried doing a system
restore to a previous functioning date. Still unable to access/ping. I have
verified it is not a profile issue, by trying with myself logged in on her PC.

The client is using Windows XP SP2, connecting to a domain member server
running Server 2003. Not sure which service pack is applied to the server. I
believe it is also configured as a domain controller/DNS server/DHCP server.

The user is able to successfully ping every other server we have tried. It
seems isolated to her PC pinging/accessing the one server.

Has anyone encountered a similar issue, or have another suggestion I might
try? Any help would be appreciated, as this is becoming increasingly
frustrating, both for my user and myself.

Try downloading & running winsockfix (I usually get this from
www.majorgeeks.com) and see if it helps.
You might try a tracert to the destination IP as well.....
