unable to connect from LAN

hi,
any idea why i am not able to connect from my windows 2000 computer to my
windowsXP computer.

i have used \\windowsXP\c$ . verified that local username and password is
correct.

what could be wrong?
 
Hi Lynn,

Pre-SP2? If so, you need to disable the XP firewall, it's not smart enough
to let you through.

i see that the firewall is not turned on.

You didn't respond to my last inquiry. Perhaps you did not see it? Are there
explicit shares set on the XP machine?

Hi Lynn,

If no specific folders are designated as network shares, the machine will
not be accessible across a network.
