Un-Installing MS Anti-Spyware

My ISP offers a complete package of anti-virus and anti-spyware software, and
although I've been pleased with the MS Anti-Spy Beta, I would like to switch
to the package offered by my ISP.

Problem is the ISP asked that all AV and AS software be removed prior to
installing theirs, and even after using the typical Windows Control Panel ...
Add/Remove Programs ... The ISP package will not install.

The ISP claims that the MS Anti-Spy has left registry entires which conflict
with their software.

Anyone know how to completely clean-up the registry entries and any other
quirks caused by the install of MS Anti-Spy?

Any advice would sure be appreciated.

Thanks;

If you've done an uninstall via add and remove programs, and it completed
properly, Microsoft Antispyware has been removed.

Yes, there are registry entries, and folders and sub-folders left behind.
None of that is active and none of it interferes with any other application.
Your ISP is blowing smoke.

What's the application you are trying to install?
What are the precise details of the error message you get on the install?
What antivirus did you remove?

In terms of easy to do stuff--you can delete \program files\microsoft
antispyware and all subfolders. I'd ignore the question of registry entries
for the time being--this is either nonsense, or a very poorly written
application indeed.
