MS antispy Beta update cant find cable ISP/ only obsolete dial up

HI
I originally installed MS anti spy Beta when I had Dial up
(Juno) .
Since I've gone to Cable high speed, when I try to update
spyware def's, i get an error message statind "no internet
connection." My cabled ISP is "always on." What do I have
to do to make my cabled ISP my default? Using XP SP2 and
IE or Firefox as my browser

Is your Internet Explorer set to work off-line or on-
line? Please check in the File menu of Internet Exporer -
the "Work off-line" option should nºt be checked.

Ensure that Internet Explorer is working online when you are attempting the
definition update, click file and make sure that Work Offline is not
checked.
