Typhoon cardreader / writer 8-1 USB 2.0

When attaching the device (Typhoon cardreader/writer, art
81035) to my computer (DELL) it signals an unknown USB
device. Device drivers are not installed. I've tried it
on another (Windows ME) system and there its works OK.
I've tried other USB ports, same result. Other USB
devices operate correct. In the properties of the unknown
device is stated that there is no correct driver found.
Updating the driversoftware via the wizard doesn't result
in a valid driver found(not on the cardreader
installation CD nor on the XP CD ROM). Operating
Platform: Windows XP Home
System: Brand new (big) system (one month)

Contact with Typhoon lead to the following questions,
wich I answered and didn't receive a further reaction:
1. Is it connected to a USB Hub or directly to the system
main USB port? It is connected to a USB port on the
system (it's got 8 USB ports, i've tried several).

2. Run the mainboard CD-ROM and update the USB port
driver first.
I have installed the latest microsoft patch. It didn't
work. I don't have a mainboard CD-ROM, only utility and
recovery CD's from Dell. I cant find USB drivers there
(and on the CD's is printed that they are already
installed)

3. The unknown device signal a USB port with wrong driver
or not enough system resource for the USB port. The
devicemanager of the systemen signals no problems with
the USB ports (untill I connect the Typhoon...). Other
equipment (camera, mouse, printer, PocketPC) work well.
When I examen the driver of the unknown USB device I see
the following:
Manufacturer: Microsoft
Date: 1-7-2001
Version: 5.1.2600.0

Searching for a updated driver doesn't give any drivers
(not on the system, nor on the WinXP CD). I can't find
options to increase the amount of resources (but I doubt
if that could be a problem on this new machine, P4, 512
MB DDR etc.). Since the Typhoon does work at another
computer and other USB devices do work at the ports i've
tried it is got to be a driver problem I guess.

The only way you can get USB2.0 support and drivers for windows xp is
through "windows update" and you must download and install windows xp
service pack 1 and the USB2.0 drivers are part of that package. Hop this
helps.
