Two graphics cards... HELP!

Matt

Hello,

I just got my new PC. Everything works perfectly
except... I don't know how to use my old PCI graphics
card instead of that AGP one in my PC. I'd like to know
how to "use it", meaning I know how to put it in and
stuff, and I have all the drivers (newest out there).
Just don't know how to finally change the PC from using
the AGP one. I tried to do it. Right click on the
desktop. Then I went to properties. Then to settings. And
changed it from my NVIDIA GeForce 2 64MB (AGP) to NVIDIA
FX 5200- to use this one as my primary monitor. Well,
unfortunetely, it didn't work. I rebooted my PC, changed
the wires on the back and well... NOTHING. Gray screen...
I changed it to my AGP one, rebooted the PC. PC works but
still with that GeForce 2.

Can anyone write me a walkthrough how to do it?

And here's PCs full specifications:
AMD Athlon 64 3200+
512 MB DDRAM (400 MHZ)
ALBATRON MOTHERBOARD
NVIDIA GeForce 2 64MB (AGP)
NVIDIA FX 128MB DDRAM (PCI)
ViewSonic Monitor VE700
Windows XP Home

That's about it. Thank You.

You need to change your BIOS settings to PCI video, instead of AGP.

Your AGP card is defined as the primary adaptor in BIOS, if you want to use
the PCI one (why I don't know!), you need to change the setting in BIOS to
PCI, and reboot.

To help, add a monitor to both cards, whilst testing, it makes life much
less complicated.

OK. I changed the settings in my computer. Here's what I
did. Put in my graphics card. Turn on my PC. Went to
properties (on desktop) then to settings, and changed the
monitor, reboot. Went to BIOS settings, set the graphics
card to PCI. REBOOT. Again. Well... NOTHING! It still
doesn't recognize it! Anyone else? (I don't have the cash
to buy a new AGP graphis card... So I'm using a better
PCI card...)

Are you sure the PCI card still works?

Is the AGP video on the motherboard, or is it a AGP card?

If the AGP video is on-board the mobo, is there an option in the BIOS to
disable the on-board video?

If it's an AGP card, have you tried removing it?

Have you tried to move the PCI card to another PCI slot?
