More information is needed. What kind of computer do you have? How much ram?
How many watts is your power supply? This is important because more powerful
graphics cards require bigger power supplies etc. Some require a power hookup
off your power supply. I had an ATI 9600 xt in my last computer that worked
pretty good and did not require any extreme power. The main thing is you need
the card to have support for direct X 9. This is required to play lot of
intense games. You probably have DX9 on your computer but the graphics card
has to support it also.

For an AGP Slot you need a high end AGP Card, the best around are
Nvidia 6800 Series

http://www.guru3d.com/article/content/128/

These have been superseded by the new PCI 7800 Series cards so are
around half the price they were a year ago. The games you specify are
cutting edge stuff and Battlefield 2 especially will not run in its
full glory on a 6800 AGP card, it should however run adequately but
you had better check. If you really want to play these games you need
top spec machine, there is no point in a kick ass VC if you are
running 256Mb RAM and a 1.4 Athalon Processor so before you splash out
on a 6800 VC make sure your machine has enough clout to deal with it.

You need at least 512Mb RAM but a Gig is much better I run 2Gbs

Processor should be a Pentium 2.8 minimum for Battlefield 2 - you can
get away with lower but it will be under a lot of stress. I have a
pentium 2.8 in the current games machine which can cope, just, the new
one being built is being fitted with a Athalon 64 processor - why -
Battlefield 2 needs a lot more speed.

Graphics wise I am using a Gainward 6800 GT AGP Card which does the
job just fine but will not run Battlefield 2 smoothly if I ramp up the
effects & resolution settings unless I overclock it which is OK but it
overheats and crashes hence the liquid cooling system for the new
machine and the XFX GeForce 7800 GT PCI card being fitted which I will
probably double up at Xmas when I can sneak another £300-00 under the
wifes Radar.

Slippery slope Gaming, I spend a fortune upgrading machines to play
the latest games. Take my advice stick to solitaire.
