Two graphics cards problem

Hello,

I just got my new PC. Everything works perfectly
except... I don't know how to use my old PCI graphics
card instead of that AGP one in my PC. I'd like to know
how to "use it", meaning I know how to put it in and
stuff, and I have all the drivers (newest out there).
Just don't know how to finally change the PC from using
the AGP one. I tried to do it. Right click on the
desktop. Then I went to properties. Then to settings. And
changed it from my NVIDIA GeForce 2 64MB (AGP) to NVIDIA
FX 5200- to use this one as my primary monitor. Well,
unfortunetely, it didn't work. I rebooted my PC, change
settings in BIOS (from AGP card to PCI), changed
the wires on the back and well... NOTHING. Gray screen...
I changed it to my AGP one, rebooted the PC. PC works but
still with that GeForce 2.

Can anyone write me a walkthrough how to do it?

And here's PCs full specifications:
AMD Athlon 64 3200+
512 MB DDRAM (400 MHZ)
ALBATRON MOTHERBOARD
NVIDIA GeForce 2 64MB (AGP)
NVIDIA FX 128MB DDRAM (PCI)
ViewSonic Monitor VE700
Windows XP Home

That's about it. Thank You.

change BIOS setting to PCI. but why would you want to use PCI instead of
AGP? hmmm

The agp card/interface will be faster than the pci card, even though the pci
has more memory, especially for gaming. But if you really want to use the
pci card you have to disable the agp card in the bios. Also go into device
manager and disable the agp video card in there. Once its disabled in both
places the computer should use the pci one. Make sure to plug the monitor
into the pci card and not the agp.

OK, but if I mess up and the card will be disabled in
both places... And still it won't work (!) how will I run
the system?

In that case, boot to safe mode, the standard vga drivers will load and you
should be able to enable the card again in device manager.

Well, I did everything. I even took out that AGP one
(finally) and put just the PCI one. Didn't work. I mean
it did load the windows, the BIOS screen but that's it.
This is crazy. Could it be a driver problem?

Update the bios of your motherboard. Be very carefull when doing this. And try again.

I would think that you also are looking at a driver prob. Check out nvidias
website to get the lastest drivers for your pci card and xp.
