TweakUIPowerToy setup

Everytime I download the XP TweakUIPowerToy, I get the following error message when I try to install it:

TweakUIPowerToySetup.exe - Entry Point Not Found

The procedure entry point GetDllDirectoryW could not be located in the dynamic link library KERNEL32.dll.

I downloaded it at:

http://www.microsoft.com/windowsxp/downloads/powertoys/xppowertoys.mspx

How can I correct this and install the Power Toy? I sure wish Microsoft would support ALL their products.

That is the version that expects you to have installed Service pack 1
(SP1). If you have not done so, the earlier version can be found at
http://download.microsoft.com/download/whistler/Install/2/WXP/EN-US/TweakUiPowertoySetup.exe

Once installed you will find it in Start - All Programs - Powertoys for
Windows XP

No! Not XP or SP1 but XP or XP 64bit (Itanium)!

Incorrect. The version 2.10.0 of TweakUI that came out in 2002 will
only install if XP has SP1 installed. I rather doubt if there *is* a
version for XP 64 bit

Thanks Alex, this worked fine. I just reinstalled WinXP and forgot about updating to the SP1 level. I will do that now.

Are you in England? I'm in Largo, Florida - central, west coast area near St. Petersburg.

The internet is a never-ending source of amazement!

Nothing times 3.

There is - but he made the worst of both worlds by having his sig at the
top, and what he wanted to say (just thanks, it worked) at the bottom

Good to hear

Yes - South coast. I've visited the Keys regularly, but not the Gulf
coast

What is *really* amazing is having a three way conversation on Messenger
with two other MVPs - in LA and in West Australia - all awake at the
same time!
