Turning off file synchronization

Hello... I am attempting to turn off the synchronization of files when
offline. The item in the file menu is checked and greyed. I want to turn it
off and would like to know how to do that.

Open Synchronization Manager.
Remove the check boxes next to the offline items that you don't want to
synchronize, such as a mapped network drive or an Internet Explorer
offline Web page.
Also you can turn off sychnronization by disabling the settings in
GPEDIT.MSC

To make changes to the policy:
START> RUN >GPEDIT.MSC>OK
Locate: Administrative Templates\Network\Offline Files
Policy Function: Synchronize all offline files before logging off
Synchronize all offline files before logging on

Change the policy according to your need.
