Offline Folder Synchronization

Bob

Hi,

What's the difference between the following two synchronization options in
Windows XP?

#1 - Synchronization Settings
1) From the tools menu of Windows Explorer, select Synchronize.
2) Click the Setup button.
3) Here you'll find "Automatically synchronize the selected items" with two
check boxes: "When I log on my computer" and "When I log off my computer".

#2 - Folder Options
1) From the tools menu of Windows Explorer, select Folder Options.
2) Select the Offline Files tab.
3) Here you'll find two check boxes. "Synchronize all offline files when
logging on" and "Synchronize all offline files when logging off"

Hello Bob,

Thank you for using newsgroup!

From your post, I notice that you have posted the same question in our
<microsoft.public.windows.file_system> newsgroup, to which I have already
responded. Please check my answer there, and if you need any further
assistance on this particular issue please reply to me in that thread so I
can follow up with you. In the future, please don't cross-post the same
question in multiple newsgroups. This will help our engineers work on your
question more efficiently.

For your question, the first option is used to configure Synchronization
Manager so that you can configure different items you need to sync. For the
second option, that is only used to configure Offline Files sync.

Hope that helps!

Thanks & Regards,

Ken Zhao
