Turn off Windows Security Alert?

How do you turn off Windows Security Alerts? It is the red shield icon with
an X in it. It is on because I have windows updates turned off.
Also, how do I make the IE Explorer windows open up large? So when I click
on a link that pops up a new window it pops up full size.
Thanks for your help.

Double click the shield to open the Security Center.
On the left side click "Change the way..."
Make selections as desired

Go to Control Panel open Security Center. In upper left corner, last line
“Select the way Security Center Alerts me.†See if you can check or uncheck
the Automatic Updates Box. Hope this helps. If not post back so some one
else can help. As for the IE windows, someone else will have to answer that
question.

Regarding your IE windows, I find that these windows remember their previous
size and faithfully open up in the exact size in which they were closed.
I have not found a checkbox to change this.

Hi Lan,

Pertaining to the latter.....Window sizes are inherited by the last window
opened, usually deemed by pop-ups, etc. To correct: Drag the window using
the double arrows and stretch the window to the size you prefer. Once done,
use File/Close or Exit.
