Trying to reinstall windows xp home but it will not detect a keybo

I'm trying to reinstall my windows xp home. I have my original disc and it's
not scratched or anything like that. I have no known hard drive problems -
all is pretty much well!

I reformat my computer once a year, so it's time for it's annual cleaning
incase you're wondering why.

My problem is that when the cd gets past a certain point (after the blue
screen where it's reading all the files in a grey line at the bottom), it
brings you to a screen where it says "to reinstall windows xp press ENTER"
"to repair an installation press R" "to exit press f3".

This is where my keyboard stops working! I have tried 3 different keyboards
now, and none of them work.

Mine is a cordless, so at the back it does have a ps2 connection+mouse
attachment that goes to the base (that sends out the signal). I have tried
my sister's, which has a ps2 connection. I have also tried my mom's, which
has a ps2 and a usb connection (yes 2 plugs, not an adapter).

I can't reformat if I have no keyboard detection.

Please help!

First thing to address; with XP there is no real reason to do an "annual"
reformat. XP when properly maintained does not need frequent formatting. If
your system is working but sluggish, you should run some spyware; malware
cleaners, defragment the hard drive, uninstall software that is no longer
used or trial versions that have expired.
For the keyboard issue, this is not a XP problem and will not be fixed with
a reinstall. This is a bios or hardware issue.
Access the bios and enable the wireless keyboard if the option is listed.

I was going to post yesterday (but I was so busy getting ready for work that
I forgot! Sorry ) and let you all know that I eventually got my keyboard to
be detected (by doing nothing other than rebooting and trying the cd 4 more
times...). It just decided to work suddenly, with no changes. I guess my cd
may be buggered up after all, but it really looks fine.

I tend to install/uninstall a ton of game demo's, or little games that i
want at the moment, but wont use in a week...so eventually i just like to
have a fresh system instead of wasting my time picking through the registry.

I run ad-aware, and norton anti-virus with internet security, so i never
actually get even 1 piece of spyware, but I like to keep my registry clean.
I'm very picky about things being as perfect as I can get them ;)

As for the keyboard issue not being XP and not being fixed with a reinstall,
well my keyboards work, they just were not working during the reinstall :)

Before I formatted, I looked at my drive and it was very very fragmented.
When I clicked on the analyze button it showed there wouldn't be much
difference. I might defrag more often from now on...

Thanks for coming to help though, very much appreciated :)
