Running dimension 4700 w/XP Home Edition. Was unable to boot PC beacuse of a
corrupt boot file; decided to recover files, reformat HD and reinstall XP
Home Edition. O/S will not reinstall, although it goes through the motion of
loading drivers and files, processl HALTs with BLUE SCREEN and a bunch of
gooblygook error messages when installation reaches a point where message
"STARTING WINDOWS" appear.

Help???

That "bunch of gooblygook" is exactly what we need to help you! If you
want accurate help copy the *exact* contents of the error message and
post it here. Without that information we cannot help you.

Can't "copy" if your comouter is DISABLED and w/out an operating system. Too
much $#5#6& to handscribe. Thanks a bunch, buddy. You were a lot of help
(everyone is not as computer savvy as you).

That was uncalled for. Just because you didn't like the "answer" doesn't
mean there's some other "easier" solution. Geez, guy, take it to a shop
then!!!!

Well, excuuuuse me! If you can't write down the information and post it
here then don't expect anyone here to help you! What you are doing is
tantamount to calling your doctor by phone and telling him: "Help, it
really hurts bad". Then when the doctor asks for more details you tell
him that you can't tell him anymore than that! Take yourself to the
doctor or in this case take your computer to a competent repair shop and
pay to have them fix it!

All that we need is the stuff from the first section of the BSOD, the
Bugcheck Information section:

http://www.microsoft.com/technet/prodtechnol/Windows2000Pro/reskit/part7/proch33.mspx?mfr=true

That still doesn't suit you? Do you have a Windows XP cd? Stick it in
the computer and reboot with it and do a repair install. Better yet, do
you have a Restoration CD? Boot with it and have it return your
computer to factory conditions and lose all your files in the process.
That will always fix things for those who are too lazy to post the
contents of an error message! Those restoration cds are really handy in
cases like this!

If those answers doesn't suit you then post to: alt.psychics.crystalball

Can't copy *what*?

Who are you talking to?

And why are you top-posting?
