Trouble downloading programs from the web

I just upgraded to dsl and now when I try and download
programs from the net the download hangs. It only gets
about 25% done then stops. The system does not hang, it
is only the download. I have plugged a MAC into the DSL
and the download went fine. ANy suggestions??
