Transparencies are printing solid

This may well be a printer driver issue.
I'm printing to a colour laserjet printer and the driver is a pcl5 (the
printer is a PS print, but the driver doesn't appear to be post script).

Anyway ... when I create transparent shapes/colours in PPT 2002, they don't
print transparent, although they are fine on the screen and in the print
preview.

Has anyone else run into this ... or found a fix within Powerpoint. The
drivers are controlled by our IT department ... and I may not be able to
convince them to change the drivers, so I'm checking to see if there's a fix
within Powerpoint before I drive down that road.

Thanks for any thoughts. Diana

Steve that worked. Thanks for sharing ... and it was easy.

Unfortunately, some of what I'm working with is text, which means I can't
change how it flows, so I'll have to keep a copy of the "text" version in the
workspace or work with the text version until I'm ready to do a test print.

Thanks again. At least I can print it the way it's supposed to look (to the
extent that, that's even possible ... <weg>)

Yep, afraid so. That's the trouble with these workarounds. They can be a real
pain.
