I use a Xerox phaser6250N color laser printer and PowerPoint 2003.
It’s different printing speed PowerPoint 2000.

PowerPoint 2003 : about 30 minutes.
PowerPoint 2000 : about 3 minutes.
Printer driver used PCL and PS both.

PPT file includes semitransparent objects with variable transparence (25%,
30%, 45%, etc).

Why this happen?

Any form of transparency will definitely make your print times go long,
possibly more in PS than PCL but I've no way of testing that here conveniently.

I don't know why it should be so different for the two PPT versions, though.
