Transfering program data

This may be hard to explain but I will try. I have a friend who is a
landlord and has many units. She has bought a special software for keeping
track of all tenants. The question is, I am using wxp SP2 and I think she is
using w98. The program is compatibable with both. If I fill all the
information out on the program as far as the tenants and so forth, and if
she has the software installed on her computer, will there be a way for be
to transfer all the information from my computer to her's with copying all
to a CD or whatever. She paid alot for the software and would hate for it to
just be money thrown out the window. Hope this makes some kind of sense.

In all likelihood, it would be the same as writing a letter in Microsoft
word (on your computer), taking the file to her computer and then opening it
with her copy of Microsoft Word. You have to know the name of the database
file you created and where it is stored. Then you would have to
copy/transfer that file to her computer (to the same folder as it was in on
your computer). She "should" be able to open the file and work with it.

Note: There may be a permission problem. You may have to "take" ownership of
the file under her account so she can access it.

As another note, if the *version* of the program is the same on both
systems, it shouldn't make any difference to the data.

If your friend paid a lot of money to someone for this software, I think
they would have someone who can answer this question. Since we don't
know how this software is written it will be only guesses as to if it
will work this way.
