TRACK ERASER... BIG PROBLEM

B

barlaz

Track eraser was used by our son. It no only deleted his tracks but it also
deleted 4 years of MS Word documents. Not just the documents but also the
folder they were stored in. I tried a file recover program but cannot find
that they have been erased or put in the recycle bin. They are just GONE. I
should have backed up but I didn't.

Someone please help.

That's unfortunate barlaz, but you should never install a beta without a
backup. Actually, one should never run any Windoze system at any time
without some type of backup.

Did you try system restore?

System Restore does not restore data.

Try searching your hard drive for all files with the .DOC extension.
Sometimes a careless click in Explorer results in a click-drag which
will move a file or an entire folder.
