Can you unerase files from a USB flash memory thumb drive?

I accidently erased some important files from a USB flash memory thumbdrive.
As soon as I saw that the wrong folder was being erased, I hit cancel as fast
as I could, but it had already erased half the files in the folder. I
checked, and the deleted files didn't go to the recycle bin, they were just
gone. Erased. Is there any way I can recover the files? Is there a way to set
up Windows so in the future, if I accidently do something like this again,
that the deleted files go to the recycle bin instead of just disappearing?
Thanks.

No. When you delete files from a flash drive they do not go to the Recycle Bin. This is not a Windows issue.

The manufacturer of the drive will be glad to sell you unerase software, but there's no guarantee you'll get your files back.

I learned this from experience, unfortunately.

If I am not mistaken I used a program called Restoration (free) to find deleted files on
my thumb drive. I thought I had a copy of my files on the hard disk and deleted the ones
on the thumb drive, only to find out I had no copy.

It would be worth a try to use Restoration. It is pretty straightforward.

Hello,

In your case I suppose Active@ undelete data recovery tool can be of a
great usage. It worked for me in a simmilar situation and was able to
restore all files back. I'm pretty sure that will help you.

File if erased for USB or flash drives it wont get stored in recycle bin:(. So its better to delete files consciously:dance: but if you find that you still have deleted the important files from you USB then its not that issue as i too also suffered from the same problem. You can easily get those files back just to unerase file from usb you need some third party tools which will make your task easy:D.
