How to recover a file if I deleted from network?

I just deleted a very important file from my server(win2000 server) through
networks neighbourhood, is there any way I can recover this file ? 'cos I
can't find this file from Recycle Bin.....
Thx

As far as I'm aware if you delete a file across the network it doesn't go
into any recycle bin - not on your machine and not on the machine you
deleted it from. Sorry.

There may be third party applications that might help to recover deleted
files, but I'm not familiar with them so can't advise.

Your best course of action is to recover it from the latest backup. Your
files were backed up weren't they?

Restore it or have your system administrator restore it on the server.

Of course - unless they have some "instantaneous" backup method in place
(yes - they exist and are commonly used) or that file was there for a day or
more - it may not have been backed up.

Hi,

Actually, you can restore lost file using Active@ undelete tool. This
soft has the most awesome recover method among data recovery tools
IMHO. Really great one, that never failed me before. Give it a try, you
won't regret it.

Looks like a nice tool, but its no substitute for having a proper backup
solution in place.

Hello,

DataRecoveryWizard utility can help. Speaking about me, it was
easily able to restore lost partition, so I think you will
also find it quite useful. Really recommended tool, give it a try.
