Touchpad in a Acer Aspire 5670 laptop.

My touchpad doesn't work in normal mode. To use my laptop I have to startup
in safe mode. I tried to install the drivers, follow manufacturer
recommendations regarding basic troubleshooting and still doesn't work
properly.

I downloaded a software named "driveragent" and basically tells me that more
than half of all my device drivers are defective or not updated.

Even trying to download the drivers is a problem because sometimes I need
the Original Windows recovery disk and since the laptop required to burn them
at the fist startup and I didn't, now I have a bigger problem.

Do you have a hint how to fix the touchpad?

Install the driver from here:

http://www.acerpanam.com/flex/acerdrivers/bin/drivers.html?CFID=1665090&CFTOKEN=22798895

Remove the device, then reinstall.

I cannot help to fix your touchpad but on my Acer TravelMate, I can burn
Recovery Disks whenever I want, not only at the first startup. I made
them the first day I got the laptop but I could do another set today if I
wanted.

The program to do that on my Acer is called Acer Recovery Management and
is part of the Acer Empowering Technology suite in the Start menu. This
utility allows me to create "Factory like" recovery disks, "Current
state" recovery disks (image of the system with all my own programs
already installed) and "Drivers and Programs" CD; "programs" means
installation programs for those installed by Acer at the factory.

In my opinion "Factory like" recovery disk are useful if you sell or give
away the laptop or a real bad incident without a "current backup". The
"Current state" recovery disks are much more useful for a regular backup
strategy and it works very well, I tested it.

You should have a similar utility on your computer. Check with your user
manual if you don't find it.

I bought my laptop in December 2007.

I would not rely on Driveragent. Most PCs all use components made by
different "component" manufacturers. These manufacturers "resell"
their components to other PC manufacturers, which include these in
their products. These components manufacturer sometimes post their
own drivers but the PC manufacturers do / can make changes to the
components. Always get the drivers from the laptop manufacturer
first.
