touchpad problems

recently, i updated the drivers for the touchpad on my
laptop and now it won't let me use the side scrolling part
of the touchpad. everytime i try to use it, it just shows
a little pic of a scrollbar and a pointer.

any ideas how to fix,

Were you having problems that caused you to update the drivers? If not,
then just roll back the touchpad drivers. Go to Device Manager (from
the System applet>Hardware) and double-click on the touchpad's entry to
get its Properties. You'll see a button there to Roll Back Drivers (it
might be under Advanced - just look for it and you'll find it).

before i used to be able to to tap the touchpad itself in order to click
without having to use those cumbersome buttons. But, some how, god know how,
i have messed this up and this no longer works and I can't seem to figure
out how to turn it back on. Could somebody please help me asap!!!its really
annoying hvaing to use those stupid buttons!!!
