Touchpad sensitivity

A friend of mine has a Acer Laptop 2300 and has problems with the touchpad.
I posted a query about this before but misunderstood my friend's problem at
the time.

Most of the time his touchpad cursor will just meander around the screen by
itself or now he says it starts to move then he cannot activate the touchpad
and has to close down his system. He says this has always happened since
purchase 9 months ago. Apparently Acer have put in a new hardrive and told
him this would correct all the problems but he still has them. Obviously he
will have to take it back again but I was wondering if there is anything he
may have changed himself that could be the cause of this erratic touchpad
behaviour. Is there a way to set the sensitivity of the touchpad or look at
it's setting

TIA

It seems odd that Acer would replace the hard drive for this. He should
consult his manual on how to set the sensitivity for the touchpad or contact
Acer for help.

The touchpad is a mouse-like device and should have drivers that would allow
you to adjust the sensitivity. If not, then the touchpad should be
replaced.
