toolbars missing in Windows Explorer

Suddenly all 3 toolbars at the top of Windows Explorer -
not Internet Explorer are missing (also missing in My
Computer). I cannot find anyway to get them back. The last
thing I have done is install Roxio CD/DVD Creator V6.1,
but I don't know if that has anything to do with the
problem. I cannot "Repair" Windows either because my Dell
supplied CD is Win 2K + SP2, but I have updated my Windows
to SP4. Micorsoft says I have to deal with Dell and Dell
says they can't send me a CD with SP4 to do a repair or
reinstall. So now what? I strongly suspect my problem is
just a Registry setting - but I sure can't find it. Any
help would be appreciated.

I have the same problem. If I open My Computer everything
is fine. When I explore My Computer or any other folder I
lose my toolbars. I to have installed Roxio 6.1. Have
you tried uninstalling Roxio? Let me know if you have
solved the problem.

After installing Roxio 6.1 the big problem I was fighting
was that the computer would not shut down - it would only
reboot. In dealing with that problem I uninstalled and
reinstalled AT LEAST once. I'm not sure when through all
that the toolbar problem came up. By the way, I finally
found an obscure reference to a repair program in one of
Roxio's discussion groups that fixed the shut down
problem.

It seems I have found the solution to the missing
toolbars. As I figured, it is amazingly simple if you know
what to do. Just hit F11 - twice! The toolbars come back
and now just unlock them and put them back in normal
position.

I had the exact same problem but never installed the program that you are referring to. I can take a good guess as to how it gets that way. When you press F11 the first time, the window opens up full screen, the same set up as when you use the F11 option while in Internet Explorer. When it is like that you can "autohide" the toolbar, which is how I have my IE set up. I wonder if you guys have your IE set up the same way and Explorer is simply "autohiding" the toolbar. Then when you git F11 again to minimize, you get the normal toolbar setup.
