Too many Contacts folders appearing in my Personal Folders

Hello,
I have had to rebuild my laptop more than a dozen times (I've resorted to
keeping a log in order to make the next rebuild quicker!). With the last
rebuild, I seem to have acquired several 'Contacts' folders. Both appear in
the Address Book - one with the list of contacts, the other empty. Is there
someone out there who can tell me how to get rid of the additional folders
from my Personal Folders as the properties show. Many thanks. PB

Have you tried right-clicking on the folder and choosing "Delete
'folder_name'"?

Just curious...why are you rebuilding your PC so many times?

Thanks for the response.
Ans. (1) yes; I have right-clicked and deleted the unwanted folders but,
when I go to the address book and select 'Tools', 'options' the additional
unwanted contact folders still appear there.

Ans. (2) reason for so many rebuilds (it's a laptop) it is of lowish spec
and keeps crashing i.e. run-time errors; many files become corrupt or seem to
go MIA and beyond the reach of a simple 'detect and repair' job; or at times,
won't shut down so a cold boot required causing more issues.

Bummer...it seems to me that the two problems may be related. If this
were my laptop, I would put my energy into solving the crash/corruption
problem first. Once that is fixed, your Outlook problem will likely be
fixed as well.

Maybe you have a hardware problem...bad RAM or hard drive or over
heating maybe.

Click Tools>E-mail Accounts>View or change existing directories or address
books>Next. Select the Outlook Address Book service and click Change.
Remove the bogus folders there. STop and restart Outlook.
