Thesaurus unavailable with Office Suties including Word 2007 insta

RedJ

I have Outlook 2007 installed as PART OF THE OFFICE 2007 SUITE (so not same
as most other cases where they do not have Word 2007). However, at some
point the thesaurus stopped working in Outlook 2007. I have removed Outlook
from the Office installation and reinstalled and likewise for Word, but it is
still non-functional. Thesuarus works under Word. Any solutions, short of
complete uninstall of the Office Suite?

It did work, though it's been broken for long enough I can't try to make an
educated guess about what change might have caused the problem.

Now, when the thesaurus in invoked, I get the "sorry" sound effect and no
other feedback. Thesaurus is not greyed out in the Proofing menu, but does
not give any response, not even the "sorry" sound.

I had not installed the hotfix pack, however it does not seem to be
available for download in any of the KB articles I have located discussing it.

I'm not sure what broke it, its working on one of my systems, not the other.
Both have Vista, so its not the OS.

I don't think so - I have the SP on my machines. I originally thought that
was the SP causing it, until I checked a machine with the Feb CU and another
one with an SP2 build. It works on those systems but not my laptop.

Funny, I have nearly the opposite problem: works on my laptop, but now broken
on my desktop. Repair does nothing. May have to use the nuclear option and
wipe Office off the affected system and start over. I hate doing that,
especially with the level of accounts and settings setup I do. Maybe I can
live without an integrated thesaurus until my next machine upgrade. Outlook
is supposedly using Word as its editor, but the thesaurus works fine in Word,
so it's something pretty specific to Outlook.
