How do I set up a thesaurus in Outlook 2007?

I just installed Outlook 2007 (which replaced 2003) and there appears to be
no thesaurus. Under 'spelling' in the proofing section of the top bar, the
line indicating thesaurus is light grey and if I right-click a word in the
text of a message, the line indicating 'synonym' is also light grey.

I'd appreciate any ideas.

Have you ONLY got Outlook without Word? Perhaps the thesaurus uses the Word
Thesaurus....

I have encountered the exact same problem with Outlook 2007 (among other
things).

Since your post is over a month old, and there have been no apparent replies
to date, were you able to obtain a fix elsewhere? If so, it would be great
if you could share it.

Thanks!

Do you have Outlook and Word both installed from the same Office suite?

I was using Office 2003 Pro already when I purchased just the Outlook 2007
upgrade. All I did to load the program was put the Outlook 2007 disk in and
follow the prompts.

Hope this helps.

Then you've destroyed the Outlook-Word integration and you won't have a
thesaurus. Outlook and Word must both be from the same suite for the
integration to work.

It sounds like if I want the thesaurus, my only option is to upgrade to
Office 2007 - a rather expensive fix.

This is probably jousting with windmills, but if the only way to avoid
"destroying" the Outlook-Word connection is to load from within the Office
Suite (and I really have no idea how one is supposed to actually do this), it
would have been terrific if Microsoft would have explained this option up
front - especially now that I likely can not return Outlook 2007 and obtain a
full upgrade to Office 2007 Professional.

Frankly, if I had the ready $$$ lying around, I would have purchases the
entire suite in the first place rather than just going with Outlook 2007
alone.

I believe it's on the Office web site, but you might have to look for it.
