I would like to know if you had any idea how to fix this problem. (Win XP PRO
SP2)
mainly the problem is... there is no sound, what's causing the problem is
that the sound drivers are quite possibly corrupt or missing.
After going into the Device Manager -> Sound Video & Game Controllers ->
SoundMAX Integrated Digital Audio -> Properties:
* Audio Devices -> SoundMAX Integrated Digital Audio
* MIDI Devices and Instruments -> WDM-based Device
* Mixer Devices -> SoundMAX Integrated Digital Audio
for all 3 of these the status is "Driver is enabled but has not been started".
also when trying to adjust the volume on the taskbar:
[ There are no active mixer devices available. To install mixer devices, go
to Control Panel, clcik Printers and Other Hardware, and then click Add
Hardware.
This program will now close. ]
I have tried unistalling and reinstalling the soundMAX soundcard drivers
already but no luck. As I've been searching the internet i've found that it
is a common problem and no solution is posted.
I have also tried to enable it in services.msc but it's already enabled, and
the settings are correct in the BIOS. If possible I would Like the names of
the drivers as then I would just b able to replace them in the system32
folder and register them by going to add hardware.
