The user screen after coming out of Hibernation

I have 2 computers; Desktop & Laptop. Both WindowsXP-SP2 and patched to
the hilt. Laptop has always had hibernation set to when the computer
folds shut. press the power button later and the computer restores to
where it was. Started plying around with Hibernation on the desktop
and when it wakes, I'm at a blue screen with one user listed (# programs
running, new email listed) and I have to click on the user before.

Thoughts on how I can wake up to the desktop and not the welcome screen?

Hey Alan,

I have a laptop too and have a similar problem. When I fold the laptop it
goes into hiberation too. My question for you is when I open the laptop I
hear the computer turning on, but the screen stay black and nothing happens.
To get the computer to work I have to manually turn the computer off and re
start it. This has just started happening within the past two weeks, any help
would be greatly appreciated.

1. Click Start, click Control Panel, and then double-click Power
Options.
2. On the Advanced tab, click to clear the Prompt for password when
computer resumes from standby check box, and then click OK.
Excellent! Thank you
