The shell stopped unexpectedly and Explorer.exe was restarted.

Hi Everyone,

This question relates to my ongoing mission to sort out my very annoying
computer.

I posted a question a few days ago " Computer Freezes On Windows Bootup" and
had lots of good sound advice. But I have still not resolved the problem and
now have two additions issues. Someone in a previous thread advised me to go
to Event Viewer and along with many thiings listed I came across thise one "
The shell stopped unexpectedly and Explorer.exe was restarted " , which had
something to do with " Winlogon" . I wonder if this might be do do with my
computer freezing on start up?

Also , I can only run the computer in safe mode.

Also , my desktop is now doing strange things. It keeps changing colour to a
black background and everytime I change it , when I restart it is black again.

I have already run Sperantispyware ,Malwarebytes Anti -Malware and a full
system scan with Nortons Anti Virus. I have also carried out most of the
instructions within other threads related to my original problem and to be
frank I've just about given up on fixing this computer. If I could afford a
new machine I would throuw this one out the windows.

I would be extremly grateful for any help or advice.

Please post a copy of the Error Report from the Application log in Event
Viewer. Don't post any more than 48 hours ago.

You can access Event Viewer by selecting Start, Control Panel,
Administrative Tools, and Event Viewer. When researching the meaning
of the error, information regarding Event ID, Source and Description
are important.

HOW TO: View and Manage Event Logs in Event Viewer in Windows XP

A tip for posting copies of Error Reports! Run Event Viewer and double
click on the error you want to copy. In the window, which appears is a
button resembling two pages. Click the button and close Event
Viewer. Now start your message (email) and do a paste into the body of
the message. Make sure this is the first paste after exiting from
Event Viewer.

Hope this helps.
